Afference is a neurotechnology startup unlocking touch as a new communication channel between humans and AI. As they prepared for their Series A, they needed a pitch deck that could tell a clear, compelling story to top-tier investors.

CHALLENGE

The founders had groundbreaking science and a bold vision, but their story was highly technical and complex.

They needed a way to translate deep research and novel technology into a narrative investors could quickly understand and rally behind.

SOLUTION

I partnered with Afference as design lead and strategist to build their Series A deck from the ground up. I defined the message architecture, structured the storyline, and led research on market positioning and investor expectations.

The result was a 15+ slide deck with a clean, scientific aesthetic—each slide built around one core idea, crafted for clarity, focus, and visual impact.

OUTCOME

The final Series A deck gave the founders a clear, confident story to take to investors. I designed 15+ slides, structured around a tightened narrative flow, simplifying years of neurotech research into a presentation that could be grasped in minutes.

The $15M funding ask was framed with clarity and credibility, helping Afference begin early conversations with top-tier investors and strengthen their internal alignment on how to tell their story.

The Afference website work focused on turning technical complexity into a clearer, more human digital experience. After supporting the Series A deck, I helped extend that narrative into the Careers page and broader website direction.

The UX strategy centered on hierarchy, comprehension, and trust, helping visitors quickly understand what Afference does, why it matters, and what it feels like to be part of the team.

Niley delivers. She learned our business quickly, helped craft a story that was simple and compelling, and built upon our brand to produce high quality content. We will work with Niley from now on.
